It has been stated that statistically, 9 out of 10 drivers will get a traffic ticket in the era of their lifetime. Naturally, this means that nearly every driver will get a ticket at least once in their lifetime. When you get a tick and become interested in fighting traffic tickets, here are a few things to remember:
1) Never plead nolo contendere (no contest) or guilty. No additional charges can be added if you give a not guilty plea. You want to at least give yourself a chance to beat the courts.
2) You are constantly legitimate until made guilty. Don’t you remember the Constitution? You’re always free until proven guilty.
3) More tickets than you may think end up having a mistake which makes them inadmissable in court, thus freeing the defendant. If this is this case, have your case dismissed immediately.
4) If two officers were present when you were issued your ticket, both are required to show up to your court hearing. If both are not there, motion for dismissal.
5) Be fixed. Make sure you request the method of speed capture so that you can give form to your defense prior to walking into the court room.
6) Corral a ditto* of your driving record. Now, you’ll know what they’ll call upon.
7) Dress well at your hearing.
Make a plea bargain if all else fails. Opt to take traffic school in interrelation for the breaking not showing up on your record.
If you can follow even one or two of the above, you should have absolutely no problem fighting traffic tickets. The cost of your ticket will pale in comparison to your insurance fees; when points are added to your insurance and your costs skyrocket, you’ll see just how expensive that speeding ticket can be. For that reason alone, fighting traffic tickets is incredibly important. Most times, the officer will neglect to arrive to the court.

my first speeding ticket I ended up going to court the police officer didn’t show and I got lucky the judge looked at me said be careful out there no more speeding and the ticket was dismissed… didn’t cost me anything!
You should be able to call the courthouse and find out the points and fine.
As far as beating it, that will be difficult. The officer is almost always given more credibility in court.
Some will probably suggest demanding the radar calibration records, records of the officer's training, or just hoping the officer doesn't show up. These methods are time consuming and rarely work.
Most people will agree your best bet would be to meet with the prosecutor, and try and negotiate a reduced fine and/or points.
If you were speeding and were caught there is really no way to beat it , the only thing that can happen is if when you go to court if you are fighting the ticket and the officer does not show up then it will be dismissed .
The Pacific Coast Highway (Route 1) – there’s an article on Wikipedia with cool photos.
"I was not speeding, here is my proof________"
If you can't say that, you deserve the ticket, the points, and the fine.
Learn to slow down and you won't have this problem.
I’ll add to that. If you are a new resident to the state of California it is 5 years instead of 3. I think it stays like this for a few years.
Keep resetting the court date until they will no longer allow you. Hopefully the officer will not show up to court, thus your ticket will be dismissed.
The officer in FL has to be not only Post Certified to be an officer but also has to be certified and trained on the specific type of radar equipment they are using. ( radar or lazor)
Next I forget if it is annual or bi anunal but they are required to go to training to keep thier certification up ( something many forget, can't get into a class or they are late getting the class)
so every day there are some officers running radar where thier certifiction has become outdated.
Next the actual radar equipment has to be FCC licneced and tested, and every day upon the start of his use of this equipment he has to do a tunning fork test for calibration.
There is a log carried in the car with the radar unit where they enter the test results.
You can request this from discovery of evidnece though the court. But should be doing it with an attorney.
It will cost you more to beat it, than the fine, and one ticket on your record has little effect
Go to court and hope the law enforcement officer don't show up then it is automatically dismissed, or go to traffic school and then it is dismissed after completion then again you can just pay it and not speed anymore
the amount of time you are spending on trying to beat this ticket is not very cost effective. Plus most of the sites you have researched all charge a fee.
The choice is yours pay the ticket or pay someone for the information to beat the ticket and have the possibility of still having to pay the ticket
dude, just postpone the court date, then pleade not guilty. Chances are the cop will not show up to court with the judge and all that. You will still have to pay when you show up to court to set the court date, but they will return your money if the cop does not show to court. This works most of the time. I did it once and saved myself $200+ for speeding
nice vid man!!
5 stars! keep it up
Hey mate, good story, thanks for shearing
Most driving offenses, such as hit and run, reckless driving, and driving under the influence, are designated as 2 points and will remain on your record for seven years from the violation date. Most other offenses are designated as 1 point and will remain on your record for three years from the violation date. Any “at fault” accident is normally counted as one point.
Prove beyond a reasonable doubt that you were not speeding.
you keep saying PCH… am i missing something but what is PCH?? oh nice scenery btw, i can see how easy it would be to zone out with the conditions your riding in.
So you were speeding (why else would you admit it?) and told the Officer you were speeding when he stopped you. Well, your chances are somewhere between my becoming the Crowned Prince of North Dakota and my son's request for snow on his birthday (he was born in July and we live in the South).
Who knows, stranger things have happened, but the judge is going to love the part where you admitted it to the Officer. It will be up to the judge.
