Fight A Speeding Ticket - Discover How You Can Get Out Of It Now

Getting a speeding ticket is one thing that many of us have experienced at least once in our lives. For some, they may have had a couple unlucky experiences. And, if one of those experiences has been more recent, you might be wondering how you can get out of paying a ticket.

Now, if you’ve legitimately deserved your speeding ticket, it may be tough to get out of, but I will admit that you can still get out of it, although it may not be the most ethical thing to do. Fighting a speeding ticket, in certain situations, may not be worth your time (and money) in the long run. But, with a couple simple tips that I’m about to show you, if you feel confident enough, you may be able to slip out from paying your fines for speeding.

Make sure that you show up to court

Notice how you have two options when you receive a speeding ticket? One option is to pay for it (which admits your guilt), and the other option is to show up to court on the date that is noted on your ticket. You want to make sure to show up to court that day for a couple reasons. One, if you don’t show up and don’t pay the fine, you could face more severe consequences and two, if the officer who gave you the ticket doesn’t happen to show up to court that day, your ticket will instantly be dropped. That’s right – if that cop doesn’t show up, you don’t pay a cent!

Ask them to test their equipment

If you are in court and ask the officer to present to the court the radar gun that they used to clock your speed, there is a good chance they may not have that on them. This can delay the court date, but in the end, result in court costs being more expensive, as well as the time consumed for a fine so little, that they might end up dropping the ticket altogether.

Speeding tickets are about economics not safety. Your best defense is economic. Never pay on the spot. You should always contest a ticket in court, you will get the chance to plea bargain, for a lesser charge because it is cheaper than a hearing. For those who say speeding tickets are about safety and not about making money, please explain the proliferation of speed cameras and automatic mail in fines smoothing the money flow. Why aren't the police doing something else?

A history of bad driving will disqualify you, but if it is just a couple speeding tickets, you should be fine. They don't expect you to be perfect.
